High Elms 10k

We hope that you and your loved ones are safe and well.

Entries for 2021’s High Elms race scheduled to be held on Sunday, 6th June are now open. You can enter at runbritain.

Our Race Committee has made a great start on the many challenges we face to ensure that, if we are permitted to do so, we can host an event that is safe for everyone involved.

Our plans are being prepared but we anticipate changes will include all bibs and chips will be issued in advance; the start will be socially-distanced and staggered, the route has been modified and, unfortunately, there won’t be any cakes at the end. However, you can expect the usual high levels of organisation, enthusiastic support, thorough first aid cover and the stunning views and challenging trails of the lovely High Elms park.

If you deferred your place from 2020, you will receive an email on the 15th January 2021 advising you of the latest information

We look forward to welcoming you all to the event. Please look out for updates over the next few months.

We will be donating all profits to the Maypole Project which is the local charity ORRs are again supporting in 2021.

Orpington Road Runners are proud to bring you our event around the nature trails of High Elms

The course is challenging and hilly, but very scenic to make up for it. Faster runners should expect to add at least 5 minutes to their PB times, whilst slower runners will be delighted with the value for money of running a 90 minute 10k.

For 2021 we are planning to modify the route of the course, and to change our registration process to make the race safe for all runners and volunteer marshals As these plans are still in development, we cannot detail them here. However, we expect to have registration in advance, to have a staggered start and will not have prizes awarded at the course.

Challenging

The race is a challenging single lap multi-terrain course through the Nature Trails of High Elms and some of Kent’s beautiful countryside.

Chip & Medals for all

This race is chip timed and results are published. Our special 2020 race medals will be awarded to all finishers of the 2021 race.

Individual & Team Prizes

Prizes will be awarded to the first three men and women to finish and to age group winners. Team prizes are awarded to Athletic Clubs competing with the first three finishers from each club to count. Team members will be taken from the details supplied by runners on the entry website.

Restricted to…

The race is open to runners aged 15 years or older.

Orpington Road Runners club member participation

Traditionally we do not allow club members to participate as we require all members to volunteers to be able to host a great 10K event for which we have a brilliant reputation.

Thank you

The event is organised by Orpington Road Runners but a special thank you must be made to:

  •  Up & Running (Sevenoaks) – your local running shop – and our main sponsor
  • High Elms Rangers and volunteers for their help and support in staging the event, and ensuring the course is cleared of obstructions.
  • Finally thank you to the many dedicated runners young and old who continue to support us in our fundraising activities, and also to the hundred or so marshals and helpers who give up their Sundays to help stage the event
