Due to the ongoing COVID-19 global health pandemic and current England Athletics guidance, no races can take place prior to the 30th June 2020. As such, we have no option but to cancel our race which is due to be held on Sunday 14th June 2020.
An email was sent to all entrants on the 1st May advising this and the options available to them. The deadline to apply for anything other than a deferral was Friday 15th May 2020. There are no exceptions offered to anyone who misses this deadline. Please note that if you have emailed us after this date, the mailbox is not monitored regularly and timely responses will not be provided.
All outstanding entries have now been automatically deferred to our race next year which is due to be held on Sunday 6th June 2021. You do not need to do anything regarding your automated deferral at this stage. We will contact you again later in the year when the 2021 entries open so that you can confirm your place.
Many thanks for your support of our event and we hope to see you next year!
Orpington Road Runners are proud to bring you our event around the nature trails of High Elms
The course is challenging and hilly, but very scenic to make up for it. Faster runners should expect to add at least 5 minutes to their PB times, whilst slower runners will be delighted with the value for money of running a 90 minute 10k.
The race is a challenging single lap multi-terrain course through the Nature Trails of High Elms and some of Kent’s beautiful countryside.
Chip & Medals for all
This race is chip timed and results are published. Race medals will be awarded to all finishers.
Individual & Team Prizes
Prizes will be awarded to the first three men and women to finish and to age group winners. Team prizes are awarded to Athletic Clubs competing with the first three finishers from each club to count. Team members will be taken from the details supplied by runners on the entry website.
The race is open to runners aged 15 years or older.
Orpington Road Runners club member participation
This year, the High Elms 10K is part of the Kent Grand Prix. Traditionally we do not allow club members to participate as we require all members to volunteers to be able to host a great 10K event for which we have a brilliant reputation. When we reach the required number of volunteers, the 10K committee will release a few HE10K race entries for volunteers to take on a first-come-first-served basis.
This year, we would like to acknowledge club member’s desire to participate in the Kent Grand Prix and have therefore placed the following rule into our entry process for the 2020 High Elms 10K for ORR club members:
“Any member of Orpington Road Runners who wishes to participate in the 2020 HE10K being held on Sunday 14th June can enter the race providing they in turn put forward a friend or family member who can volunteer at the event on their behalf”
When entering the race, please email orpingtonroadrunners@
Failure to do the above may result in your entry not being processed the entry fee being refunded.
